Its not like it was overboard teasing or anything. It was just a little nagging. What a jerk, she thought, what a self-centered jerk. Surprisingly, she wasnt emotional. Not one bit. No crying, no hysterical screaming and swearing, nothing, like, she expected it to happen. Let him screw his life up, she thought, and deleted all the messages from him in her cell phone. The two years of friendship were a lie, a pretense. The times spent, secrets shared and angers vented. It was all a lie, a hoax. Hot tears welled up in her eyes, as she flung her cell phone against the wall. Fuck you, she silently screamed, staring at the little cell phone parts on the floor. Fuck you for being my friend, fuck you for being there for me, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, for pretending everything was fine until now, FUCK YOU! she finally burst out loudly. A bout of silence greeted the sudden outburst of emotions anger, disappointment, and confusion.
The mother was reading the newspaper when she came down. Hearing the footsteps coming down the staircase, the mother looked up from the newspaper with concern, Are you alright dear? I heard yelling upstairs.
She smiles brightly, no trace of the tears from just a moment ago, and said Of course I am Mom, and skipped off to the kitchen.
